From the Injinji Kitchen: Juiced Up

The Injinji kitchen has become a hub of staff bonding, meal prep, and sharing of epic recipes. The most recent trend in Injinji culinary delights? Juicing, of course! Juicing is a great way to get your daily allotment of fruits and veggies in. The nutrients are absorbed easily into the body, and one cup of juice to start the day will have you buzzing (naturally) all morning long. Drinking raw veggies helps your digestive system function more efficiently overall. In fact, juicing has been linked to lowering blood pressure and alleviating both skin diseases and immune disorders.

Mt. Mitchell Recap by Dominic Grossman

Last Christmas I was on vacation at my parent’s house in Arden, NC and I got my first taste of Mt. Mitchell on a 3600ft, 5.5 mile climb out of Black Mountain Campground. The trails were steep and technical and the top featured a picturesque Spruce-Fir forest covered in 6” of powder. I shared a few pictures from the run on Facebook, and a generous Brevard native, Scott Wolfe offered me his spot in the Mount Mitchell Challenge (40 miles). I was psyched to have an excuse to come back in February and compete in a race known for snow and harsh conditions.

Team Injinji Takes on Mt. Mitchell Challenge

The Mt Mitchell Challenge in North Carolina is a 40 mile route with serious elevation gain (climbing nearly 5,000 feet!) on the tallest mountain on the eastern seaboard. Dave Mackey (Hoka) and Dominic Grossman (New Balance) had a strong showing with Dave pulling in 1st finish at 4:38:13 and Dominic 3rd for Mens in 5:02:37. The course had to be altered due to ice conditions so while Dave was dominating the record we may have to witness him racing it again to beat the full course record in ’14.

    An Introduction to CrossFit

It’s lunchtime at Injinji HQ, but you won’t catch us slumped over at our desks with fast food in hand. In fact, most Injinji employees take our lunch hour as a great opportunity to break a sweat and get moving. We’re fortunate enough to have an “InjinGym” right here in our offices, where we test product on treadmills and host Yoga and Pilates classes for staff every other week. We also have a Crossfit gym right down the street which draws Injinji employees in with squat jumps, Olympic lifts, and more.

    Insulindependence & Injinji Do Carlsbad

One of the many advantages to having our HQ in San Diego is the access to some of the country’s best races be it a 5K or a 50K. Last month was the Tri City Medical Center Carlsbad Marathon and Half, also a Boston Marathon qualifier. If you were there, you may have noticed the orange and white shirts out on the course. These runners and walkers are with Insulindependence, an organization dedicated to revolutionize diabetes management through recreation and adventure.
