Where do you live and train?

New York City

Ideal training spot, conditions, companions?

Surrounded by great athletes in New York , all doing diverse and inspiring races. My ideal conditions: soft trails through hills of Nepal , Vermont and definitely those with a view of the beaches north of Sydney Australia.

Years running, cycling, or competing?

Always been competing in sports on some level. 1997 was my first solo trek across Nepal, also the year for my first off road marathon and started my passion for endurance sports. Started triathlons around 1998, and longer marathons/ultras a couple of years ago.

What type of races do you prefer (i.e. trail ultras)?

Desert races, multi sport races on trails.

.How did you hear or find out about Injinji tetratsoks?

Suggested by another Desert racer.

How long have you been wearing the tetratsoks?

One and a half years.

Your personal tetratsok of choice?

Performance Micro for training, mini crew for racing.

How do the tsoks work for you, and what do you like best about them?

Tsoks make me run with my whole foot, all toes! It’s more relaxing for my feet and seems to prevent strain on my big toe and arch. Also great prevention for toe blisters in races!

How have the tetratsoks changed your experience training and competing?

Above answer is best.

What would you most like to accomplish athletically presently and/or long-term?

I wish to continue endurance races of all kinds, and traveling…very active trips. I like to write for magazines about the races and provide inspiring stories about the participants and their feats. I hope females become more comfortable and motivated to enter longer endurance races such as desert races.

Favorite Quotation or Personal Motto?

Bring it on.

Favorite foods for training and competing?

Dagoba dark chocolates..all of them! I only discovered liking chocolate two years ago and the theobromine has me hooked. Also, that Metromint spearmint water…ooh it wakes me up. I always race with Vanilla Endurox (mother’s milk), Active Greens Bars and Greens Plus bars. Makes the races feel luxurious!!

Favorite post race meal?

Pretty simple…Dagoba chocolate, then Active greens chocolate chip bar and Greensplus chocolate protein bar. Once I get beyond that, the meal depends on the country, company and type of race I’ve just finished. I just need the staples I mentioned. A ritual I treasure.

Other hobbies or interests that you like to spend your time doing?

Movies, massage, music.

Best advice you have ever received from a fellow athlete, or non-athlete?

Bring it on.
