| "Never again.." |
 |
| "Never again. Never would I suffer from blisters again.
Never again. Never would I allow my feet to take such a pounding.
Never again. Never would I let my feet fall into such a neglected state during an outing that it would lead to the loss of nine of my 10 toenails.
Never again.
It’s become my mantra, ever since I ran a 100-mile race in 2003 and my feet were so covered with blisters I couldn’t wear socks for a week, and my toenails were blackened so badly they looked like I had taken a sledgehammer to them. For two weeks after, in a procedure that is probably even more painful than what I’m writing here, I would have to sit down at night, bite the inside of my mouth in agony and peel off toenail after toenail.
Never again.
Although my example is extreme, it’s presented for a reason. I’ve spent the better part of the last four years figuring out how to make feet blister-proof, how to ensure that the only toenail problem I ever have again is how to handle the torrent of compliments showered upon me for having such beautiful looking nails. Treating your feet with thought and care shouldn’t be something that you do after you’ve spent several hours hiking or running. Before any trail activity, you should sit down for a few moments and decide how best to ensure that your feet don’t end up taking a beating. Here’s are three simple things I’ve discovered as my feet have healed and now seemingly smile back at me following any trail race, run or hike I take.
Start with the socks. A lot of people would say start with the shoes, which is important, and is something I’ll deal with in a moment. But socks, I’ve learned, are maybe even more critical than the shoes. Why? I’ve always run, raced and hiked in good socks, made of the finest performance material that will wick the moisture away from your skin and dry out quickly. I was still missing the boat, though. It hasn’t been until the last year or so, when I switched to Injinji socks, where I have really seen a marked difference in the wear and tear of my feet. The concept behind these socks – for lack of a better term, they are “toe socks” – is simple. The creators of Injinjis look at your feet the way you would look at your hands. Mittens on a hand will keep your hands warm, but they offer poor dexterity (ever try to tie your shoes with mittens on?). Gloves, on the other hand, will keep your hands warm as well, but obviously offer fingers a much freer, a much greater range of motion. Your toes are the same. Toe socks enable your feet to perform naturally, without the unprotected friction, and heat and moisture buildup that will occur when wearing a conventional tube sock. The likelihood of blisters, hot spots, moisture buildup and neuromas can be greatly reduced by wearing toe socks. In my own experience, I’ve run 50-mile trail runs for the last year wearing Injinjis, and have yet to experience even the slightest blister.."

| "injinji socks - and nothing else. PERIOD." |
 |
| "I had the pleasure to wear injinji socks the first time at my first 100 mile race (Rio del Lago) last year (2006) and had a very interesting experience.
The moment I put them on they felt great. I ran the first 67 miles and had no hot-spots or blisters whatsoever. Unfortunately, due the very dry trail, they were covered with dirt and I didn’t think of bringing any replacement. Because of that I had to use normal running socks for the remaining 34 miles.
I immediately felt the difference. It was just no comparison to the injinji socks. That showed clearly once I finished 100 miles and I had 3 open and 4 closed blisters on my feet since I changed socks.
Since then I always wear injinji and bring plenty of spare.
Thank you guys for such a fantastic product. ." |

| "they are FABULOUS" |
 |
| "I just wanted to give you feedback on the socks. I wore them on my long run on Sunday and really loved them.. I had a mortons neuroma removed in my 20's and slowly the 4th toe over the years wants to slide under the 3rd and I am constantly getting corns and having to wear corn pads. I cannot believe the difference the socks make. They keep my toes from doing that. I guess I am not surprised as it makes sense but they are FABULOUS. Thank you for giving me a pair." |

| "won't wear anything else!" |
 |
| "Hello. I am 80 years young and still nursing. I am constantly on my feet, and my daughter's friend gave me a pair of your Injinji socks. She never got her pair back, and then she proceeded to buy five more pairs for me. I love them and won't wear anything else!" |

| "what a difference!!" |
 |
| "...for such wonderful socks! I, just by chance, saw your toe socks in
a sports catalogue and was immediately intrigued by them. I have
problem feet - bunions. I just cannot take the time right now to get
bunion surgery, and my toes suffer for it. I have long toes and the
one next to the big toe, which is now pushing inwards, is constantly
rubbing against it, causing blisters and major discomfort, just from
every day activities. Since I have bunions on both feet, it seems that
most of my toes are crying all the time.
My husband and I were planning a trip to Paris, where I knew we would
be walking our feet off. I needed some kind of relief from the constantly compressing and shifting toe separators I have been wearing
up to now. I purchased your socks from Sahalie and, WOW! was I
pleased with them! I have not known such comfort in years! Other than the expected fatigue from walking more than we are used to on a daily
basis, my feet sailed through our trip! What a difference!!! I wear
them ALL the time now. The only "improvement" I would love to have happen is more colors!!!."

| "my toe nails would fall off " |
 |
| "Hello, My name is Melanie Girshick and I am from Brooklyn, New York. I am emailing you to say, "Thank you." I am currently in training for my 3rd marathon. I have been raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for the past 2 years by training for various marathons ( you can view my website below). I have always run into one problem, blisters on my toes. I have gone through various running sneakers as well as every brand and every style sock you can imagine. I always end my runs with blisters on my toes to the point were my toe nails would fall off.
I was recently told about the injinji brand. I looked all over in various running stores and could not find them. I found your website and ordered 2 pair of the "Injinji Tetratsok Mini Crew Socks BLACK LARGE". I have been using them while in training for the ING NYC Marathon 2007. I have had no blisters! I am so excited to have a training season in which I have one less thing to think about. I have been strongly recommending the sock to my teammates. So, again, THANK YOU!." |

| "my toes don't fall asleep" |
 |
| "I just had to email you and let you know that the socks are great! I'm headed to buy more because as long as I wear them my toes don't fall asleep. I would only get a few blocks and my two middle toes would be numb. This is great, no kidding they really help." |

| "This socks changed my life (for real)" |
 |
| "Hi, I live in Argentina and I was looking for better socks for my sweaty feets (fungus between my toes). After purchasing a lot of different brands of materials socks I discovered the Injinji Toe Socks. Wow!. Is the only socks I can use now. Never again sweaty feets. This socks changed my life (for real)...and the people I tell this think I'm exaggerating.
I don't know why there are socks that are not Toe socks. Even the cost and the customs fees I have to pay to get in my country they really worth it!!" |

| " Amazing!!" |
 |
| "I just wanted to tell you how well your socks worked last weekend at the Spring Desert Ultra in Fruita, Colorado. I had never attempted this race before and was worried about the fine, red sand destroying my feet. I had seen a few of your magazine ads and decided to buy a few pair to see if they might minimize blisters. I ended the 25 mile version of the race with only 1 small blister which was amazing!! I'm not normally a letter writing person, but I really did want to let you know that I appreciated how well your socks work!!" |

| "As soon as I put on my shoes... WOW!" |
 |
| "Hello!
I have some awesome news. I am always interested in finding that "little something" that will help me with my performance and comfort level with my running. I mean, If my body is comfortable while I run then I find it much easier to get into the "Zone" we all enjoy while running. First thing, I AM NOT being pain or compensated in anyway to "push" this product AND it takes alot to get me to really "get into" someone Else's brand name. Yesterday morning I received the pair of Injinji Socks that I ordered a few days ago via the web. I have been very curios about them since I heard what the Ultra Marathon guys and gals said about them. I put them on and at first they were a little on the "different" side. but as soon as I put on my shoes... WOW! I can best describe it as being "Barefoot" I immediately felt that I had more control of my feet even though I had my shoes on. I wore them throughout my work day. Then I returned home for my evening run. I set out for a 5 miler that I do quite often. As I ran I just could not believe the difference. I felt things going on in my shoes that I was not aware of. Massive control in stride to stepping off of curbs running on gravel and the occasional jump to the grass as cars passed... They REALLY helped me. I ended up running 11 1/2 miles with MUCH less fatigue in my lower legs. It's really amazing. I would say, it is my opinion, if you are looking for that added "something" to help you be a better runner if through nothing but through a better understanding about what your feet are truly feeling, try these socks, your toes have alot to say to you! Have a good one, DC." |

| "I fogot to say I set a world record " |
 |
| "I would like to say how much I loved your Injinji socks. I recently won the Brno 48 hour race wearing them. It is the first time in a while I didn't
get a blister or have my skin battered off my feet! When I say I won the race I forgot to say I set a world record for 48 hours Indoors! 264 miles
plus!! I am an Irish International ultrarunner and will also be representing Ireland in world 24 hour championships in Drummondville, Quebec in July, 2007." |

| "What a success " |
 |
| "I wanted to send you a note regarding my Grand Canyon trip. There were 5 of us gals who hiked to the bottom (Phantom Ranch) and back this past week. I bought a pair of Injinji socks for each of us to try out. What a success! Not a blister or sore toe from anyone. The girls loved them and since we’ve made to pact to tackle a major hike each year, we’ll definitely have them on our “must have” list. You have a great product and I wish you great success with it. !" |
